Michael Baggott was rushed to the hospital last year after being unwell for some time. The antiques expert, who featured on the BBC show Flog It! from 2017 until its cancellation in 2020, concerned fans by sharing a video from his hospital bed.
His passing was announced in a statement on his X account, which read: “Heartbroken to share that Michael died yesterday in hospital following a heart attack, after suffering a stroke in October. He was a dearly loved son, brother, nephew, and uncle who will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held in the coming weeks, with details to be shared here.”
Following the sad news, many paid tribute to Michael. Flog It! expert Nick Hall tweeted: “So sorry to hear this. Michael was a true connoisseur and ambassador of the antiques world, a wealth of knowledge and always generous in sharing it. A raconteur and a wonderful person—it was a pleasure to have known him.”
BBC presenter Roo Irvine also expressed condolences to Michael’s family, while Bargain Hunt’s Colin Young added: “So sorry to hear this sad news. Michael brought smiles to so many people—what more could one wish for in life?”
Michael’s passing has prompted more than 300 responses online, with fans flooding his post with messages of sympathy. One tribute read: “This is so upsetting. A true gentleman. God bless him.
