CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A cargo handling company that serves Charlotte-Douglas International Airport announced the permanent closure of one of its west Charlotte facilities, according to a WARN notice filed by the company.
Based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the company, Air General, Inc. has over 34 facilities across the U.S. and handles cargo – both air and ocean transports – for over 31 airlines, according to its website.
The company handles cargo for multiple airlines including Southwest Airlines and American Airlines at the airport. The company also has a facility at Raleigh-Durham airport.
This closure will affect the facility on Yorkmont Road, effective March 31, 2025, and will impact 99 people.
