A fatal crash in Scott County on Saturday left one person dead and four others seriously injured.
The incident occurred around noon on Route 72, as reported by the Virginia State Police (VSP).
According to VSP, a Kia Optima heading north on Route 72, north of the intersection with Route 627, crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a Dodge Ram 1500. The Dodge caught fire following the collision.
The driver of the Kia, identified as 71-year-old James B. Robbins of Dungannon, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Four occupants of the Dodge sustained serious injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
