LONGVIEW, Texas (KETK) – The Longview Fire Department is searching for the cause of a structure fire that occurred on Friday evening.
According to Longview FD, at 10:20 p.m. firefighters responded to a call regarding a structure fire behind a house on Aurel Boulevard.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they reported heavy fire conditions coming from the barn and garage behind the home, but no one was injured.


Due to the condition of the fire, the on-scene commander ordered a defensive fire attack that meant nobody would be allowed to enter the building at the time. The fire required the use of three fire engines, two ladder trucks, one ambulance and four support vehicles.
According to the Longview FD, the fire took approximately 20 minutes to put out and no injuries were reported.
One person was detained by the Deputy Fire Marshal. He was questioned and later released without an arrest being made. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
