CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A worker at Charlotte Douglas International Airport tragically lost their life in an airline ramp vehicle crash Monday morning, the airport confirms.
The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 27. Officials did not say what led up to the crash but did state that only one vehicle was involved.
Emergency and medical crews got to the crash quickly, but the person sadly lost their life.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the employee’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. The Airport is working closely with airline and first responder partners in the ongoing investigation and is providing support as needed. Airport chaplains are available onsite.”

American Airlines confirmed that the worker who died was one of their employees:
