CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas (KETK)– A Cherokee County man was arrested on Sunday after the alleged sexual abuse of a child.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, officers identified Irving Charles Williams Jr. as the suspect after they responded to a call involving the sexual assault of a child.
Officials said Williams was taken into custody for the offense of sexual abuse to a child under 14 (continuous abuse) and unlawful possession of firearm by felon. During the arrest, Williams was also found to have two firearms.
Williams is currently being held in the Cherokee County Jail with his bond set at $1 million for sexual assault to a child under 14 and $20,000 for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
