A man who dedicated his life to the service of his community, Anthony leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Born and raised in Oakland, Anthony made the move to Ringwood in 1974, where he became an integral part of the community. For 33 years, he served with unwavering dedication as a member of the Ringwood Police Department. Throughout his career, Anthony’s passion for law enforcement was evident in everything he did. He wasn’t just a police officer—he was a protector of the community, a symbol of commitment to safety, and a trusted figure in times of need. His sense of duty went beyond his job; he embodied the core values of honor and service.
In addition to his work on the streets, Anthony was also deeply committed to his colleagues in law enforcement. He served as a PBA delegate for many years, where he tirelessly advocated for the well-being and rights of his fellow officers, not just locally but across the state. His passion for supporting the police community was unwavering, and his advocacy made a lasting impact on his peers.
Anthony was much more than a police officer—he was a beloved father, brother, and Pop-Pop. He is survived by his daughter, Toni-Marie, and her husband Sean, his siblings Sister Maryann Calabrese and Danny Calabrese and his wife Stephanie, as well as his niece Tracy Calabrese (Brian), and his adored grandchildren, Brandon and Haley. The love he had for his family was evident to all who knew him, and his devotion to them was a constant source of joy in his life.
The family will be holding a visitation on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 4-7pm at the D’Agostino Funeral Home in Haskell. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10am at St. Catherine of Bologna Church in Ringwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, a cause close to Anthony’s heart.
Anthony Calabrese leaves behind a profound legacy of service, dedication, and love. His passing is a great loss to the community, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
