STEELE CREEK, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A manufacturer for the pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare, and cosmetics industries, has selected Steele Creek for its expanded operations.
Groninger USA plans to invest $15.1 million in the expansion project and bring 60 new jobs.
Groninger, a family-owned company based in Crailsheim, Germany, established its U.S. operations in Basking Ridge, N.J. in 1997 and relocated to Charlotte in 2007.
The company’s existing 27,500-square-foot facility opened in 2012 along South Lakes Drive, near the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The Charlotte location handles sales, service, and parts manufacturing for Groninger customers in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
The company plans to expand its current site and increase its workforce from 112 to 172 full-time employees over the next five years. The new positions will pay an average of $76,037.
Groninger USA has a current partnership with UNC Charlotte and Central Piedmont Community College where they’ve established an engineering apprenticeship program.
