BELMONT, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Belmont restaurant staple, Sake Express, announced that it’s closing its location on Park Street later this month.
The casual Japanese restaurant has been in service there for 14 years, but will close on Jan. 24. The business’s Gastonia location will remain open, however.
“We know that this isn’t the end for Sake in Belmont; rather it’s an opportunity for change and growth in the burgeoning city,” owners Lisa and Linda Nguyen wrote in a social media post Tuesday. “We are currently searching high and low for a prominent, permanent location that will keep Sake Express as a Belmont staple for decades to come!”
A fire destroyed the Gastonia location on East Franklin Boulevard but it reopened last January.
