(QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Monday is quiet to start as temperatures have settled into the low 30s around the Queen City and in the 20s for our mountain counties. Winds are light with mostly dry roadways to start the work week.
Cloudy skies will make way for a bit of clearing later today after highs make a run for the low 50s and upper 40s this afternoon. Winds will be out of the west between 3 and 8 miles per hour.
Colder temperatures will funnel in this evening behind a cold front tracking east across the Carolinas. Look for overnight lows to dip into the mid-20s heading into Tuesday with mostly clear skies on tap through mid-week.
Tuesday will be sunny and cool, only hitting the upper 40s through the peak heating hours of the day. Look for lows in the 40s to take hold on Wednesday before temperatures slowly rebound closer to normal heading into the second half of the work week.
Highs in the 40s and overnight lows in the 20s will be a pattern that sticks around until rain chances move in for the weekend. Saturday will be mostly cloudy and hit the low 50s with showers likely to start the weekend.
Sunday will finish off the weekend with lingering showers, mostly cloudy skies, and highs settled in the low 50s.
