YORK COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person has died following a multi-vehicle crash in York County, officials say.
On Jan. 8, around 11:32 a.m., the SC Highway Patrol responded to a crash on Highway 557 near Charlotte Highway.
Troopers say three cars were involved in the crash: a 2003 Buick Sedan was traveling east on Highway 557, a 2005 Toyota SUV and a 1980 Datsun sedan. The Buick struck the 1980 Datsun sedan, causing it to collide with the 2005 Toyota SUV.
The driver of the Buick and both occupants of the Toyota were not injured. The driver of the Datsun was not injured, however, the passenger was transported to a local hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries.
The incident remains under investigation. The identity of the deceased has not been released.
