(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good evening and happy Saturday! It has been a wet and dreary day across the Carolinas with showers of and on all day long.
Sunday we are tracking potential severe weather across the Carolinas with a second storm system moving into the region. Sunday is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day due to possible severe weather. The last couple of days of 2024 will be mild before our next blast of cold air moves in.
As for tonight and your Sunday, we are expecting more hit-and-miss showers and generally foggy conditions this evening and overnight with temperatures holding steady in the upper 40s.
Sunday we are expecting a line of strong thunderstorms to move through during the late morning hours through the afternoon. Some of these storms could be severe with strong and damaging winds as the primary threat, but we can’t rule out a tornado. The storms should clear out by sunset with afternoon hours in the low to mid-60s.
The last couple of days of the year will be relatively mild as these storm systems this weekend won’t be pushing in any fresh cold air. Highs on Monday and Tuesday should be in the low 60s, and while Monday will be dry, scattered showers are possible for any festivities you may have planned for your New Year’s Eve as our next cold front moves in. Behind the front, the new year will start off on a cooler note with highs in the 40s expected for the second half of the week!
In the meantime, please have a way to get weather alerts for Sunday! Have a great night!
