Known to many as “Coach,” Lance dedicated his life to making a positive impact on the lives of others, particularly the children of Laguna Beach.
A mentor, friend, and guide to countless individuals, Lance’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Lance was born in Tustin, California, and spent his youth in Laguna Beach, where he graduated from Laguna Beach High. His passion for the arts led him to pursue a degree in Fine Arts at UC Berkeley, and his love for creativity was a cornerstone of his personality.
But it was his deep commitment to coaching and mentoring that defined his life. Throughout his years, Lance worked tirelessly to guide young people, teaching them the values of hard work, perseverance, and kindness. Whether on the field, in the classroom, or as a community leader, Lance’s impact was far-reaching.
Lance’s professional career was equally distinguished. He was a successful Realtor at Berkshire Hathaway at Prudential, where his dedication to his clients and his expertise in the real estate market made him a trusted advisor. His community ties, however, were always his greatest passion. He was not just a coach but a friend and advocate, always giving selflessly to improve the lives of others.
Tragically, Lance fell critically ill, and after a long and courageous battle, he passed away peacefully at the age of 61. Despite the hardship of his final days, Lance’s generosity continued to shine through. In his last act of compassion, he became an organ donor, giving the gift of life to another person.
The Laguna Beach community has rallied around the Stewart family in their time of need, raising funds to assist with medical and travel expenses. Lance’s wife, Deanna Holt Stewart, along with the rest of the family, is deeply grateful for the support shown by friends, family, and community members during this difficult time.
A celebration of Lance’s life will be held in 2025, where his family and the community will honor his memory and reflect on the extraordinary man he was. Lance Stewart may no longer walk among us, but his spirit and the countless lives he touched will continue to inspire us all.
