Krysta Tsukahara Piedmont CA Car Accident: 3 High School Graduates Died in Fiery Cybertruck Crash
Hundreds of Piedmont residents attended a vigil on Friday in memory of three recent high school graduates who were killed after their Tesla Cybertruck collided with a tree. The victims were identified as Krysta Tsukahara, Soren Dixon, and Jack Nelson. Jordan Miller, a fourth person, survived after being rescued from the collision by a friend and is currently in the hospital.
“I don’t know how the family will ever replace the loss of a child, but the community will come together in any way possible to support them,” said Brian Cain, whose son was a classmate of the 2023 Piedmont High School grads. “He describes them as some of the nicest people he’s ever met.”These are the kids that traveled to Mexico and constructed houses year after year while also being lacrosse stars.”
The trio had just left an event about 3 a.m. on Wednesday when their Tesla Cybertruck drove off the road at Hampton Road and King Avenue and collided with a tree, erupting into flames.
Jen Cavenaugh, the mayor of Piedmont, spoke on Thursday morning before the city’s annual Turkey Trot began.
“I went to bed last night expecting the words to arrive today. Mayor Cavenaugh stated, “It turns out there are no words that will bring these kids back to us or make this all okay.” The generally joyous occasion went forward as scheduled, but it was marked by tears and hugs. Police said they were still looking into the crash’s cause, but they suspected speed had a role.
