Early Thursday morning, November 28, 2024, a tragic accident occurred on I-55 North in Northeast Jackson. At approximately 2:30 AM, 57-year-old Sterling Ray Hall Jr. was attempting to cross the interstate when he was struck by two vehicles.
The first vehicle, a gray 2013 Toyota 4-Runner, hit Hall, and shortly after, a brown 2025 Freightliner UPS 18-wheeler struck him again.
Both drivers immediately contacted the police after the incident. Hall was pronounced dead at the scene. The Jackson Police Department is continuing to investigate the accident.
