Wheaton-Glenmont, Md. – Two young women are being sought in connection with an attack on a woman in a grocery store parking garage last month.
The Montgomery County Department of Police reported that the incident occurred in the Safeway parking garage along the 11200 block of Georgia Avenue in Wheaton. Officers were dispatched to the scene around 9:15 p.m. for reports of an attempted armed robbery.
Investigators determined that the victim was approached by two women, believed to be around 18 years old, while entering Safeway. Upon leaving, the same two women confronted her again as she walked to her car. For reasons unknown, the suspects then attacked the victim, kicking and hitting her. The assault continued until a good Samaritan began yelling, prompting the attackers to flee the scene.
Following the incident, the suspects left the garage and headed toward Fern Street. Police released images of the suspects on Friday. The first suspect is described as approximately 5-foot-5 with a short ponytail, wearing a pink sweater, white t-shirt, and jeans, and carrying a pink phone case. The second suspect has a thin build and was last seen wearing a black sweater and black bonnet.
