UTICA, N.Y. — Utica Police are investigating a robbery involving two juvenile victims who were forced to surrender their bicycles after being threatened by three other juveniles, according to a report from the department.
Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Elmwood Place on the evening of October 4, 2024, around 7:45 p.m., after receiving a call about the robbery. The victims told police that three unknown male juveniles approached them while they were riding their bicycles. One of the suspects lifted his shirt, implying he had a gun, and demanded the bikes, leading the victims to hand them over.
While officers were on the scene, the victims spotted the suspects riding their bicycles on the 1500 block of West Street. The police quickly stopped the suspects, aged 11 and 13, and returned the stolen bikes to their owners.
The juvenile suspects were released into the care of their guardians, and the case has been assigned to the Juvenile Aid Unit for further investigation.
