MILLS RIVER, N.C. — The town of Mills River has announced special hours for its Point of Distribution (POD) this weekend, as it continues to provide essential services to the community. Mills River Park will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, offering food, water, and other resources to residents.
Families visiting the park will receive one day’s worth of supplies, including food and water, as available. To ensure smooth operations, residents are asked to remain in their vehicles while going through the drive-through Resource Hub. Volunteers will assist and provide instructions as needed.
In addition to the distribution of supplies, a mobile shower station will be available. Residents are asked to bring their own toiletries and towels to use the facility.
A mobile kitchen is also expected to serve hot meals to-go, though the exact start time of service has not yet been confirmed. Additionally, limited charging stations will be available for residents to charge phones and other electronic devices. Individuals are reminded to bring their own charging cables and power bricks.
Local volunteers continue to support these efforts, ensuring residents have access to essential services during this period.
