BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A crash at the intersection of Veterans Boulevard and Eastern Boulevard on Friday evening sent two juveniles to the hospital, according to police.
Berkeley Township police responded to the scene at 5:54 p.m., where a red PT Cruiser driven by a 17-year-old female collided with an Accurate Towing flatbed truck. Authorities said the preliminary investigation revealed that the PT Cruiser entered the intersection unsafely, leading to the crash. The intersection is controlled by a stop sign.
The driver of the PT Cruiser was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center, while a juvenile passenger was transported to the same hospital by ambulance. Both are reported to be in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation by Traffic Safety Officer Shane Leighton. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Traffic Safety Bureau at 732-341-1132, extension 2125.
