WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police arrested two men early Thursday morning in connection with an armed robbery that took place in the 4800 block of Kirkdale Road, authorities said.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:31 a.m. on October 3, when a 20-year-old man was attempting to purchase illegal narcotics from two men he knew. The suspects, identified as Gregory Alphonzo Evans and Gabriel Alexander Bruins, allegedly began striking the victim and then took his phone. During the encounter, one of the men brandished a firearm.
The victim, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, encountered officers as he was leaving the area. Police located and detained Evans and Bruins nearby without incident.
Gregory Alphonzo Evans, 23, of 4814 Kirkdale Drive, and Gabriel Alexander Bruins, 23, of 3519 Forestdale Avenue, were both charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Bruins also faces additional charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Both men are being held without bond.
Court dates for both suspects are pending.
