Wilkes-Barre, PA – Authorities responded early Friday morning to a domestic dispute on Scott Street involving a man and a juvenile. The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department reports that the incident took place at approximately 1:31 a.m.
Officers were dispatched to the scene upon receiving a call about the altercation. The complainant, the mother of the juvenile, informed officers that a dispute had erupted between her 11-year-old son and Lawrence Bowman, age 49. The disagreement occurred following what was perceived as disrespect from the juvenile towards Bowman.
During the argument, the complainant claimed that Bowman physically assaulted her son by throwing him to the ground. Subsequently, Bowman allegedly struck the boy with a closed fist. The situation escalated when Bowman reportedly threw a baked potato at the boy, hitting him in the eye after being separated by the complainant.
Following these events, Bowman was taken into police custody. He was transported to City Headquarters for further processing and arraignment. The investigation into the incident continues, and further details have yet to be released.
