CUMBERLAND, Md. – Cumberland City Police arrested three individuals on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in connection with trespassing and drug-related offenses at an abandoned residence in the 100 block of Winton Place.
Officers responded to a trespassing complaint around 2:00 p.m. and found Shyanna Wigfield, 24, in the rear yard of the residence. As police approached, they observed Gary Bookheimer, 61, and Robert Barrett, 43, actively smoking controlled dangerous substances (CDS). Bookheimer attempted to dispose of evidence by throwing a glass pipe into a neighboring yard but was detained along with Wigfield and Barrett.
A search of the area uncovered multiple CDS and drug paraphernalia. Police also discovered Wigfield had an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to report to the Allegany County Detention Center.
All three were arrested and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center. Wigfield and Bookheimer were held without bond, while Barrett was released on an unsecured $3,500 bond.
