Bruce Springsteen has made his political stance crystal clear, formally endorsing Kamala Harris for President and Tim Walz for Vice President in a new video. In his statement, Springsteen doesn’t hold back, calling Donald Trump “the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime.”
Springsteen’s message highlights how divided the country feels right now, comparing the current moment to the tensions of the Civil War. But his hope lies in leaders like Harris and Walz, who he believes are committed to an inclusive vision for the country—one that embraces freedom, social justice, and equal opportunity for everyone, regardless of background or beliefs.
“We are shortly coming upon one of the most consequential elections in our nation’s history. Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great country felt as politically, spiritually, and emotionally divided as it does then at this moment,” the 75-year-old musician from Asbury Park said. “Donald Trump is the most dangerous candidate for President in my lifetime. His disdain for the sanctity of our constitution, the sanctity of democracy, the sanctity of the rule of law, and the sanctity of the peaceful transfer of power should disqualify him from the office of President ever again.”
During his speech, Springsteen rehashed all of the Democrat party’s talking points during the 2024 election season.
He contrasts that with Trump, whom he criticizes for showing disdain for the Constitution, democracy, and the rule of law. For Springsteen, this election is personal. He emphasizes the importance of each vote, calling it one of his “most precious possessions,” and encourages others to think about the kind of America they want to see when heading to the polls.
This endorsement from one of America’s most iconic voices carries weight, particularly as the nation gears up for what Springsteen calls “one of the most consequential elections in our nation’s history.”
