Washington, D.C. — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Northeast D.C. on Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 1:03 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Eastern Avenue, Northeast, following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult female inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman was unconscious and unresponsive. After emergency responders attempted lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
