Cumberland, MD – Cumberland City Police responded to a destruction of property complaint on Tuesday at approximately 11:30 p.m. The incident occurred in the 300 block of Bedford Street, where several potted plants were reportedly knocked over and damaged.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who identified Christopher Scott Cook as the individual responsible for the damage. Officers subsequently located Cook at a nearby residence. Cook resisted initial attempts to arrest him, pulling away from law enforcement and attempting to re-enter the residence.
Following these actions, Cook was successfully taken into custody and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for central booking. He currently awaits a hearing before a District Court Commissioner. Cook, 28, faces charges of malicious destruction of property, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
