MAYS LANDING, N.J. — A Philadelphia man has been indicted by an Atlantic County grand jury on charges of murder, attempted murder, and weapons offenses in connection with the fatal shooting of one woman and the severe injury of another in Atlantic City in August, officials said Wednesday.
Gregg Page, 34, of Philadelphia, is accused of shooting two women in the early hours of Thursday, August 1, near 60 North Main Avenue in Atlantic City. One of the victims, Carley Elbert, 32, of Sewell, N.J., was found unconscious with a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. The second victim, Kamille Stewart, 29, of Pleasantville, N.J., was found conscious but critically injured with multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to AtlantiCare Medical Center.
Two other men, Ryan Schenck, 30, and Ramir Schenck, 27, both of Philadelphia, were also indicted on charges of hindering apprehension in connection with the crimes. Investigators believe the brothers were with Page on the night of the shooting.
Atlantic City police responded to the scene at approximately 4:41 a.m. and discovered the two women near the jetty along the boardwalk. An investigation led authorities to Philadelphia later that day, where Page and the Schenck brothers were arrested.
The investigation was conducted by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department, with assistance from the Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI’s Philadelphia office.
