ROCKVILLE, Md. — The Rockville City Police Department has named Officer Yocelin Bonilla and Sergeant David Trogolo as Officers of the Month for their exceptional service in January and August, respectively. The officers were recognized for their humanitarian and lifesaving efforts during separate calls for service.
Officer Bonilla received the January award for her compassionate actions when she encountered a mother and a 4-year-old child without food or shelter. During a late January call, Bonilla purchased warm clothing, a blanket, and food for the pair, showing what the department described as “compassion and generosity during the performance of her duties.”
Sergeant Trogolo was honored as Officer of the Month for August following his response to a shooting. Trogolo arrived at the scene ahead of most responders and performed lifesaving first aid on a gunshot victim. His quick actions, which continued until emergency medical personnel took over, were praised as critical to the victim’s survival.
“These officers demonstrate professionalism and dedication to duty,” the Rockville City Police Department said in a statement recognizing their efforts.
