SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Interstate 81 Northbound has reopened after being closed for several hours due to a motor vehicle collision, according to the Syracuse Police Department. Traffic diversions, which had been in place following the accident, have now been lifted.
The crash, which occurred near the split with Interstate 481, led to the closure of I-81 Northbound earlier today. Northbound traffic had been diverted onto I-481 at exit 16a, while southbound traffic from I-481 was directed onto I-81 Southbound.
The police did not provide further details about the cause of the crash or any injuries. Authorities have advised that normal traffic flow has now resumed.
