RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond police are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an attempted armed robbery that took place on Monday, September 23. Authorities have released surveillance images of the individual believed to be connected to the incident.
The attempted robbery occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Birch Street. Officers responding to the scene located an adult male victim, who reported that an unknown male approached him, brandished a firearm, and demanded money.
According to the victim, he informed the suspect that he had no money on him. The suspect then searched the victim’s pockets but did not take anything. The suspect fled on foot before police arrived.
Images of the suspect, captured by a nearby surveillance camera, have been made public. Police describe the suspect as a male wearing a white t-shirt with a graphic design on the back, orange pants, and a black head covering.
