ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. — Several roads in Albemarle County remain closed Monday morning as crews respond to damage caused by Tropical Storm Helene, according to local authorities.
The Albemarle County Police Department (ACPD) issued multiple traffic alerts as of 7 a.m., noting closures due to debris, flooding, and power outages. The 2400 block of Castle Rock Road is closed after asphalt washed out in the storm. High water has forced the closure of the 6500 block of Plank Road at Miller School Road.
Further along Plank Road, the 5900 block is also closed due to mud and debris. Additionally, downed power lines have led to the closure of Carrsbrook Drive from Seminole Trail to Indian Springs Road.
Officials have urged drivers to avoid floodwaters and obey all road barricades. “Please exercise caution when traveling on roadways,” the department said in a statement. For updated information, drivers are advised to visit www.511Virginia.org.
Emergency services are continuing their response to numerous calls related to the storm.
