Newark, NJ– Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé confirmed the arrest of three 13-year-olds for making violent threats against schools via a social media post intercepted by police on Sunday. The arrested individuals included two males and one female.
Director Fragé praised the prompt action of detectives in identifying and apprehending the suspects. “This incident serves as a reminder of the seriousness of posting violent threats online,” Fragé stated. He emphasized the commitment to addressing all threats to school safety seriously.
The juveniles face multiple charges, including 3rd-degree terroristic threats, 4th-degree cyber harassment, 3rd-degree creating a false public alarm, and disorderly conduct (harassment). Authorities are still seeking a fourth juvenile male in connection with the case.
