MANHATTAN, N.Y. — A 25-year-old man was assaulted and robbed while riding his electric bicycle on the Willis Avenue Bridge on Friday, September 20, 2024, according to police reports.
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. as the victim was traveling southbound on the bridge. At the intersection of 1st Avenue and East 125th Street, four unidentified males on two mopeds blocked the victim’s path. One suspect brandished a firearm, while another displayed a knife. The suspects threw the victim to the ground and struck him with closed fists before stealing his electric bike, valued at approximately $2,850.
The assailants fled the scene on the mopeds and the victim’s bike, heading northbound on the Willis Avenue Bridge. The victim sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention.
Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact the NYPD.
