ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Atlantic City Police Department recovered a handgun from an occupant who fled a vehicle crash.
On Sunday at 7:50 p.m., patrol officers responded to Route 30 and Grammercy Avenue for a motor vehicle crash. Officer Zayon Pitts discovered that two occupants in one vehicle had fled the scene on foot. Officer Pitts located the passenger, Joey Osias, several blocks from the crash site. Osias had an active warrant for his arrest and was found with a stolen handgun from Wildwood, N.J., and prescription medication.
The driver, Cimeron Oglesby, was also located and issued summonses for careless driving and failure to report an accident. There were no reported injuries, and both vehicles were towed.
Joey Osias, 25, of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., faced charges including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a high-capacity magazine, receiving stolen property, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Osias was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
