JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested three men following an investigation of a reported robbery and sexual assault involving two women in a Jersey City apartment.
Mohamed Mohamed, 24, Abdalla Abdelsalam Elsayed, 20, and Mahmoud Hegazi, 18, all of Jersey City, face multiple charges. These include counts of aggravated sexual assault, robbery, kidnapping, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal restraint, terroristic threats, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft by extortion, and computer criminal activity.
The three men were arrested at their residences on Friday and are being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility. A motion to detain all three defendants is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday.
On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the Special Victims Unit received a report that two women were robbed and sexually assaulted inside an apartment on Bergen Avenue in Jersey City. The investigation indicated that the female victims had arranged to meet the three defendants.
While at the apartment, the women were held against their will and sexually assaulted by the group.
