STAFFORD, Va. — A 63-year-old Stafford man was arrested on Friday after being found intoxicated behind the wheel at a post office parking lot, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. The man, identified as John Crocker, now faces a felony DUI charge.
Deputy K.W. Suter responded to a call at approximately 5:13 p.m. on September 20 regarding a green truck hauling lawn equipment that was swerving and had run a red light on Richmond Highway. The truck was located in the parking lot of the post office at 2650 Richmond Highway.
When Deputy Suter approached the vehicle, Crocker, who appeared disoriented, believed he was in Woodbridge and presented his Costco card when asked for his driver’s license. Crocker displayed signs of intoxication and admitted to having consumed a margarita earlier at a crab restaurant.
Crocker, who has three prior DUI convictions, was charged with felony driving under the influence, with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2. He is currently being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
