TETERBORO, N.J. — The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating after a business jet crashed through the window of a building at Teterboro Airport Thursday night while taxiing. No injuries were reported in the incident.
According to officials, the Cessna Citation, which had just arrived from Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport in Florida, smashed into a line service building at the airport’s main terminal just after 10 p.m. Photos obtained by WABC show the jet’s nose lodged through a window.
The crew on board, who reported a possible brake failure, included five individuals. FAA records indicate the aircraft is a 57-year-old Cessna 150 registered to Williams Kenneth J.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has been notified, with a spokesperson stating, “We are currently working with the FAA to collect information about the event to determine if it meets the criteria for an NTSB investigation.”
Despite the crash, operations at Teterboro Airport were not disrupted, officials said.
