NEW YORK — A 77-year-old woman was assaulted on the Upper West Side on Friday afternoon, according to police reports.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:59 p.m. in front of 27 West 72nd Street, when an unidentified individual approached the victim and punched her in the left eye.
The assailant fled the scene on foot, heading westbound on 72nd Street toward Columbus Avenue, police said. The woman sustained minor injuries but was not hospitalized.
Authorities described the suspect as a male with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, tan pants, and white sneakers. The investigation is ongoing.
