Largo, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving an on-duty PGPD patrol officer and 85-year-old Jeanette Benthall of Largo.
The accident occurred on September 9 at approximately 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of Campus Way South and Joyceton Drive. Both drivers were transported to the hospital, where Benthall succumbed to her injuries five days later. The patrol officer has been released from the hospital.
Investigators are examining the circumstances of the collision. They are working to gather video evidence and speak to witnesses.
