STAFFORD, Va. — Stafford County police made three DUI arrests on September 5, with incidents occurring at a Walmart, Mr. B’s, and a Sheetz, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
At 10:34 a.m., deputies responded to Walmart at 11 Village Parkway after receiving reports of a female driver who had taken an unknown number of pills. Deputies observed the suspect entering the parking lot and tried to make contact. The woman fled on foot into the store but was quickly detained before reaching the produce aisle. She was charged with driving under the influence and fleeing law enforcement, and was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
Later that evening, at 8:44 p.m., First Sergeant D.W. Fetterolf stopped a vehicle for speeding on Warrenton Road near Mr. B’s. The driver, found to be intoxicated, admitted to consuming beer and had an open container in the vehicle. Suspected controlled substances were also discovered in plain view. The driver, who did not have a license, was charged with driving under the influence, drug possession, drinking while driving, driving without a license, and speeding. He was held on a $2,000 secured bond.
At 11:48 p.m., Deputy S. Waheed responded to a complaint about a drunk driver at Sheetz on Garrisonville Road. The driver, located in the parking lot, showed signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking an “Alabama Slammer.” The driver, who referred to deputies as “Stafford’s finest,” was charged with driving under the influence and held on a $2,000 secured bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
