PHILADELPHIA, PA — A man was shot and killed late Wednesday night on the unit block of South 2nd Street in the city’s 9th District, according to police. Officers responded to a call at 11:26 p.m. reporting gunshots and a man lying on the street.
Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive black male with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 33-year-old Michael Clemens of the 400 block of East Montana Street, was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 12:04 a.m. on Thursday.
A loaded firearm was recovered at the scene next to the victim, police said. Authorities have not made any arrests, and the motive for the shooting remains unclear.
