NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — The New Rochelle Police Department addressed public concerns about its parking enforcement practices, clarifying that officers are not targeting individuals but are instead working to ensure fair parking and safety throughout the city.
In a social media post on Wednesday, the department highlighted its efforts to prevent parking violations, maintain order, and reduce congestion. “Their goal is to encourage fair and safe parking, prevent violations, uphold order, reduce congestion and safety risks, and guarantee parking access for those who require it,” the department said.
The post also emphasized the importance of ensuring that designated areas for buses remain accessible, fire hydrants are not obstructed, and double parking is managed to keep traffic moving efficiently.
The department noted that the task of enforcing parking regulations is ongoing. “It’s a never ending task and we appreciate the work you all do,” the post stated, acknowledging the efforts of parking enforcement officers.
The message comes as the department continues to balance public safety with accessibility in the community’s parking system.
