ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Annapolis Police Department has reported a series of incidents over the weekend, including a burglary, a shooting, and an aggravated assault involving a firearm.
Burglary on Marcs Court On September 1, 2024, at approximately 10:45 p.m., officers responded to a reported burglary in the unit block of Marcs Court. Upon arrival, the victim informed police that Kenneth Pitts, 26, had forcibly entered the rear of the apartment, causing damage to the property. Pitts was arrested at the scene and charged with burglary and related offenses.
Shooting on Newtowne Drive Earlier on the same day, at around 5:00 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Newtowne Drive following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers found evidence consistent with a shooting and identified a victim with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation revealed a suspect vehicle, which was later located in Baltimore City. The investigation remains ongoing.
Aggravated Assault on Obery Court On August 31, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Obery Court in response to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm. The victim reported that an argument with her boyfriend escalated into a physical altercation, during which the boyfriend allegedly pointed a shotgun at her head and threatened to shoot. The suspect and the shotgun were located by police, and the suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and related offenses.
