TENTH DISTRICT, Md. — This past weekend, the Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department was actively involved in several emergency responses, including a water rescue and multiple vehicle collisions.
The Fireboat was dispatched to a report of an overturned vessel. Upon arrival, the boat was found to be almost fully submerged. Fortunately, all four occupants had been rescued by a civilian boater before the fire department’s arrival.
Rescue Squad 8 also responded to several vehicle collisions. In one incident, hydraulic rescue tools were required to extricate passengers from a severely damaged vehicle. Multiple passengers involved in this collision were airlifted to trauma centers for further treatment. In another incident, the squad responded to a rollover accident. Thankfully, no injuries were reported from that rollover.
The department commends the swift actions of both its members and the civilians who assisted in these emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of all those involved.
