PATCHOGUE, N.Y. — A Holbrook man and his dog were safely rescued by Suffolk County police officers after a late-night incident at Mascot Dock and Marina.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:26 a.m. when the man’s 2-year-old pit bull, Brina, jumped into the water. The man, aged 20, immediately jumped in after his dog but found himself unable to exit the water. A 911 call was made, and Marine Bureau Officers Kyle Profit and Tyler Mankowski-Hassett quickly responded aboard Marine X-Ray.
The officers successfully rescued both the man and Brina from the water. Fortunately, neither the man nor his dog sustained any injuries during the incident.
The Suffolk County Police Department commended the quick actions of their Marine Bureau officers, which ensured the safety of both the man and his beloved pet.
