DOVER, Del. — A coordinated law enforcement operation led to the arrest of 15 individuals with outstanding warrants in Dover on Tuesday, according to the Dover Police Department. The operation, which began in the early hours of August 27, involved officers from the Dover Police Department, Delaware Probation and Parole, and the Delaware Department of Corrections.
Among those apprehended were Jakeel Young, 28, and Hakeem Gibson, 28, both residents of Dover, who were taken into custody at a residence in the 400 block of Court Street. During the arrest, officers discovered a cache of illegal items, including a loaded stolen Sentry Arms 9mm Draco pistol, a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun, 61 doses of oxycodone, and various other controlled substances.
Young was charged with multiple firearms offenses, including possession of a large-capacity magazine and receiving a stolen firearm. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution (SCI) on $16,000 cash bail.
Gibson faced charges related to drug possession and intent to distribute, in addition to possessing a large-capacity magazine. He was also committed to SCI, with bail set at $14,000 secured.
Both men were processed and arraigned at the Dover Police Department before being transferred to the correctional facility.
