TINTON FALLS, N.J. — Authorities in Tinton Falls are asking for the public’s help in identifying three individuals who allegedly abandoned a dog early Friday morning at the Hawthorne Suites on Park Road. The Tinton Falls Police Department, in collaboration with the Monmouth County SPCA Law Enforcement Division, is currently investigating the incident, which took place around 1:40 a.m. on August 23, 2024.
According to the Tinton Falls Police Department, the dog was found tied to a pole in a malnourished state and in need of immediate veterinary care. Officers noted that the dog appeared to have recently given birth to a litter of puppies, raising further concerns about the welfare of the puppies.
The suspects are described as two males and one female, all believed to be either white or Hispanic. They were last seen leaving the area in a mid-2000s Toyota Corolla, police said.
“We are committed to finding those responsible for this act of cruelty,” said Plt. Michael Ballas of the Tinton Falls Police Department. Anyone with information is urged to contact Officer Ballas at 732-542-4422 or via email at mballas@tfpolice.org.
The Monmouth County SPCA Law Enforcement Division is also involved in the investigation and can be contacted by those with any relevant information. The investigation remains active as authorities continue to gather evidence and seek leads in the case.
