WASHINGTON, D.C. — A fatal shooting occurred early Friday in Northwest Washington, claiming the life of a 23-year-old woman.
At approximately 12:17 a.m., officers patrolling the 700 block of Florida Avenue, Northwest, heard gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene, police found evidence of a shooting, though no victim was present. Shortly after, Lou Loni Jordan, a resident of Waldorf, Maryland, was discovered at a local hospital receiving treatment for gunshot wounds. Despite medical efforts, Jordan succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with the homicide.
