DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. — The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested Nelson Ford, 45, of Capitol Heights, in connection with the fatal stabbing of 41-year-old Christopher Woodland of Washington, DC. The arrest was made early this morning by the department’s Fugitive Unit.
The incident occurred on August 10, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 5600 block of Silver Hill Road in the unincorporated section of District Heights. Upon arrival, they found Woodland in a parking lot suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Investigators quickly identified Ford as the suspect through various investigative techniques. Preliminary findings suggest that Ford and Woodland, who were known to each other, were involved in an argument that escalated into the fatal stabbing. Ford is now facing charges of first and second degree murder and other related offenses. He is currently being held at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
