DOVER, Del., Saturday — Delaware State Police have arrested a 41-year-old Michigan man on multiple drug-related charges at the Phish Mondegreen Festival in Dover. The suspect, identified as Douglas Gallagher of Ann Arbor, was taken into custody after attempting to evade security during a routine search at the event.
The incident occurred on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at approximately 2:14 p.m., when festival security detected suspected illicit narcotics in Gallagher’s vehicle during a checkpoint search. Gallagher fled the scene but later returned, where he was promptly apprehended by troopers on duty.
Further investigation led authorities to a nearby campsite, where Gallagher had concealed a small plastic container. The container was found to hold several illicit substances, including LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide), ketamine, and MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine).
A subsequent search of Gallagher’s vehicle revealed the following items:
- Approximately 46.10 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
- Approximately 1.18 grams of MDMA
- Approximately 2.24 grams of ketamine
- Approximately 19 tabs of LSD
- Approximately 42.46 grams of marijuana
- Approximately 21 MDMA pills
- Small plastic container containing suspected THC gummies
- Distribution and packaging materials
Gallagher now faces several charges, including possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
“Troopers took him into custody,” the Delaware State Police said in a statement. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence related to the case.
