PHILADELPHIA, P.A. — A 25-year-old man was fatally shot while riding his bicycle on Snyder Avenue in South Philadelphia on Wednesday evening, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department.
Officers from the 1st District responded to a report of a person with a gun at approximately 7:00 p.m. on August 14 at 1500 Snyder Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, identified as Kaishef Johnson, of South 22nd Street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medic 11 pronounced Johnson dead at the scene at 7:08 p.m.
The initial investigation indicates that Johnson was riding his bicycle along Snyder Avenue when three unidentified males, dressed in all black and wearing masks and gloves, exited a burgundy Nissan parked at the intersection of Snyder Avenue and 15th Street. The suspects approached Johnson and fired multiple shots at him before fleeing eastbound on Snyder Avenue toward Broad Street in the same vehicle.
Later that evening, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers from the 3rd District located the vehicle abandoned at 2000 S. Front Street. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
